1. Make Sure the Thermostat Is Set Properly

2. Check Furnace Filter

· Make sure you always turn off your thermostat before commencing any work on the furnace.

· Remember that the arrows of your furnace should definitely point towards the direction of the airflow.

3. Check Furnace Switch and Electrical Panel

· Make sure power is turned on at the breaker box or fuse box.

· If the breaker box is correctly labelled, make sure that the HVAC breaker is on.

· To restore power to a circuit panel, look for a discoloured fuse.

· The perfect option to find fuse replacement is to go any local electrical store with a current fuse and replace it with similar one.

4. Check Furnace Flame

· Make sure that the colour of your furnace flame should be blue. Blue colour indicates that gas furnace is burning the fuel safely and effectively. If in case, you find your furnace flame colour be other than blue, it’s a sign of incomplete combustion of the gas in your furnace. In this situation you should definitely call a local professional technician to fix this issue and make sure that you never try to fix your furnace flame colour on your own.

5. Properly secure front panel

· You should definitely follow the manufacturer’s instructions for appropriately securing the access panel. Your furnace will not function if the panel is not pressed in all the way correctly.

6. Ensure All Vents and Registers Are Open and Unblocked

· You should be sure that there should no furniture, or anything else restricting the air flow as it can lead to duct leaks

· Make sure you’re not closing off vents and registers in unused rooms.
